Thomas Dickinson - Saugatuck
Thomas “Tommy” Dickinson is the son of Jackie Harbison and the late Charlie
Dickinson. At Saugatuck, Tommy carries a 3.29 GPA while playing power
forward for Coach Russ Doane.
As a freshman, Tommy played baseball and this season will be involved with
the track team. However, its basketball that is Dickinson’s first love. He has
played basketball from middle school to being on the varsity team for his junior
and senior seasons.

Motivation comes easy for Dickinson. He wants to carry
on a tradition that his late father started by handing out
athletic balls to elementary students. “My father Charlie,
who was always a generous and active person, gave out
basketballs to schools in Western Michigan and up
north,” said Tommy. Dickinson adds, “He did this so less
fortunate kids could be exposed to sports.” Charlie
Dickinson gave out over 3,000 balls and Tommy
Dickinson wants to keep this tradition alive.
After graduation from Saugatuck in the spring, Dickinson
will be heading to Kalamazoo to attend WMU where he will
major in Business Management. At this time, Dickinson
doesn’t know what type of business he will be involved
with, but he definitely wants to build his own successful
business, and maybe even coach some basketball.
